So here is the NEW first page to The Soul Cage, The story I am working on with
 , which he wrote.We both agreed that it was a little disconcerting dropping the reader right into the middle of the "action" without even a location setup, so I did a new first page that would work as an establishing shot. The first panel is a photograph because unbeknownst to me there really IS a Brookdale Mall in Minnesota. I had just thrown that name together because it sounded suburban and distanced from big cities. I Google'd the words Brookdale Mall as a goof and wouldn't you know it, there really was one. I came across the old image with the really cool old cars and I just felt compelled to use it. I thought it would be a cool way to establish a "real world" before getting slapped with the nightmare of the zombies. November-December of last year I was having zombie nightmares...regularly. There was one in particular I remember where I had a baby strapped to the front and had a gun in each hand. Damn zombies
